CINCINNATI - Head coach Ty Neal and the University of Cincinnati baseball staff have announced the date of the open walk-on tryouts for the 2016 season. Tryouts will be held at Marge Schott Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m. Any student who is enrolled in a four-year degree program on the main campus and is a full-time student at UC is welcome to participate.
Any interested student must register with Director of Baseball Operations Andy Nagel by Monday, Sept. 21, or a tryout spot will not be guaranteed. Nagel can be reached by email at nagelae@ucmail.uc.edu or by phone at 513-556-0565.
In order to participate in the tryout, each player must complete the following steps:
- Complete the Tryout Clearance Form and return it to the Director of Compliance, Brian DeCarlo at brian.decarlo@uc.edu or in Suite 863 of the Lindner Athletic Center.
- Have a completed physical form within the last six months signed by a healthcare representative (physical forms are available in the baseball office). Return the physical form to Brian DeCarlo with the clearance form.
- Have proof of up-to-date insurance information and give a copy to Brian DeCarlo with the clearance form and the physical form.
- All participants with past injuries (ACL reconstruction, shoulder surgery, etc.) must be evaluated and cleared by Aaron Himmler, ATC, or another University of Cincinnati athletic trainer before they can participate in the tryout.
The Tryout Clearance Form is available here.
Please contact Andy Nagel as soon as possible if you need to schedule an appointment with one of the UC athletic trainers.
