The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team put together a dominant performance on Friday night as they defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 2-0. Senior Danielle Rotheram tallied a goal and an assist in the Bearcats' road victory.
Cincinnati (4-2-1) controlled play in the first half outshooting the Red Flash (0-6-1) 14-3, but UC was unable to grab the lead before the break.
The second half began the same as the first with UC struggling to finish, but the floodgates were opened midway through the half. Freshman Jordan Cotleur netted the game-winner in the 62nd minute by blasting a ball through the keeper's hands, and Rotheram added an insurance goal in the 70th minute by floating a ball over the goalkeeper.
Despite the injuries Cincinnati has suffered this season, the team put a ton of pressure on St. Francis' defense by taking 35 shots to SFU's eight.
Senior transfer Sam Pavlika remains undefeated on the year with a 3-0-1 record and garners her third shutout of the season.

// COSINUKE'S COMMENTS
"I am really happy the women got the result tonight. Jordan deserved her goal and Danielle showed her talent with three points. The attention to detail and commitment to effort in the final third needed to be better though. Our defensive unit showed up today and deserved our fourth shutout."
"We were glad we were able to get so many young players valuable experience tonight. It should really set us up well for a tough Duquense match."
