The University of Cincinnati cross country programs had a strong showing at the stacked VT Alumni Invitational in Blacksburg, Virginia on Friday night. The men's team finished fourth overall, while the women took sixth.
// MEN'S TEAM
Toby Loveridge, who was making his season debut, paced the Bearcats in the 8K race as he finished seventh out of 140 runners. The English native crossed the line at 25:01.54, which was just 11 seconds off Florida State's Zak Seddon's winning time. UC sophomore Dan Huben and Seamus Collins grabbed top 25 finishes taking 21st and 25th overall, respectively. Spencer Clark and Jacob Franklin rounded out Cincinnati's top five with all five running under 26 minutes and in the top 40.
The Bearcats finished fourth overall with 128 points. Akron was the team champion with 42 points, and Florida State and Virginia Tech took second and third.

// WOMEN'S TEAM
The Bearcats' women's team was led by senior Hannah Christ (21st) and sophomore Grace O'Donnell (29th), who both finished top 30. A quartet of UC runners finished in 37th to 40th in Emma Hensley, Ari Surles, Tes Corea and Lianne Masquelier.
Cincinnati tallied 164 points total to claim sixth. Florida State was the team overall champion with 24 points.
