MILWAUKEE - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team finished the final day of action at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic Sunday afternoon, competing in doubles action against Wisconsin and singles action against Florida International.
// DOUBLES
The Bearcats were unable to come away with a doubles win during the final day of competition as the Badgers swept all three contests. Katya Bure (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) and Harley Hutchinson (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) had the closest match, falling by a 7-6 score.
// SINGLES
Cincinnati also struggled during singles action, picking up just one win in the six matches thanks to Antonella Bramato (Pachuca, Mexico/Elise Freinet). The true freshman defeated Andrea Lazzaro of FIU 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets.
// COACH TOTH ON THE BEARCATS
"Overall it was a solid opening weekend for our team," stated head coach Eric Toth. "FIU, Wisconsin and Marquette provided great competition for us. All have very nice squads. We'll go to Indiana next week to keep building the competitiveness and overall toughness of this team."
