University of Cincinnati junior Blake Hamilton (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) carded a career-best, second-round, 5-under par 67 and is tied for ninth place at 1-under par 76-67=143 following 36 holes at the Memphis Intercollegiate at the Colonial Country Club (par 72; 7,304 yards).
Hamilton, who is playing as an individual unattached from the Bearcats' team score, registered five birdies along with an eagle in the afternoon round.
"One of the things that Blake has struggled with has been finishing off rounds," UC head coach Doug Martin said. "Today was a big hurdle for him. He was able to overcome that mental obstacle with a birdie, eagle and par over his final three holes to finish off his best round as a college player."

Sophomore Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School) is tied for 17th place at 1-over 73-72=145.
Playing in his first collegiate tournament, freshman Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) ranks tied for 27th place at 3-over 74-73=147. Junior Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) is tied for 38th place at 5-over 75-74=149. Junior Chad Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) produced a 7-over 76-75=151 and is tied for 49th position. Junior Brennen Walsh (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder High School) is tied for 55th place at 9-over 75-78=153.

The Bearcats are eighth in the 13-team field following their 15-over 297-294=581 on Monday. Arkansas State leads the tournament at 2-under 292-282=574. Host Memphis is in second place as the only other team to register a below par two-round total at 1-under 287-288=575.
"I'm extremely pleased with our effort but I'm disappointed with our results," Martin said. "We didn't execute at the start of either round today and had to always battle back. This is a very good course and it makes it difficult to recover."
