Final Results

The University of Cincinnati duo of junior Blake Hamilton (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) and sophomore Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School) tied for 15th place at 3-over par 219 in final-round action Tuesday at the Memphis Intercollegiate at the Colonial Country Club (par 72; 7,304 yards) in Cordova, Tennessee.

Hamilton, who played as an individual unattached from the Bearcats' team score, completed the tournament with a 4-over on his final 18 holes to card a 3-over 76-67-76=219 in posting his career-best tournament finish. The effort was Hamilton's fourth career top-25 finish and fell one stroke shy of matching his career-low score, a 5-over 218, earned at the 2013 Marshall Invitational.

Baxter registered a final-round 2-over 74 to end the event at 3-over 73-72-74=219. It marked the fifth top-25 finish of his young career.

Lipscomb's Dawson Armstrong won medalist honors with an 8-under 72-65-71=208 performance.

Walsh's 1-under 71 Tuesday was a career-low and helped lead to an 8-over 75-78-71=224, tying for 38th place.

Playing in his first collegiate tournament, freshman Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) tied for 38th place at 8-over 74-73-77=224. Junior Chad Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome High School) finished 66th at 17-over 76-75-82=233.

// TEAM STANDINGS

The Bearcats completed the 13-team event in seventh place at 20-over 297-294-293=884. Host Memphis claimed team champion honors by producing a 5-under 287-288-284=859. Arkansas State also registered a team score below par, earning a 2-under 292-282-288=862 to finish second.

"The one thing that really hurt this week was our play on holes 12 through 15," UC head coach Doug Martin said. "Even though that's a difficult stretch on this course, I thought we played well overall and have a lot of positives we can take away from this tournament. This is a challenging course and I thought the way we played here was a testament to our ball-striking abilities."

// NEXT TOURNAMENT

The Bearcats return to action at the three-day Jackrabbit Invitational, Sept. 26-28, in Valentine, Nebraska.
