O'Kelley Moves into Tie for 12th at Jackrabbit Invitational

University of Cincinnati junior Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) shot a second-round 2-under par 70 Sunday to climb into a tie for 12th place with seven other players at 3-over 75-70=145 during the second day of the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Dunes Course at Prairie Club (par 72; 7,785 yards) in Valentine, Nebraska.

O'Kelley posted a consistent second-round performance with 16 holes of par or better scores, including four birdies. He will attempt to register his fourth top-25 finish in his last five tournaments when final-round action begins Monday at 10 a.m. ET.

UC freshman Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) recorded his best round as a collegiate player Sunday with an even par 72. He ranks 37th heading into the final round at 7-over 79-72=151. Junior Blake Hamilton (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) also cared an even par 72 score Sunday and is tied for 38th at 8-over 80-72=152 after two rounds.

Oregon's Aaron Wise leads all players at 6-under 69-69=138.

The Bearcats moved up one place in the team standings into 11th place at 29-over 312-293=605. USF and Michigan State are the only teams in the 14-team event that own team scores below par after two rounds. USF ranks first at 6-under 295-275=570 with Michigan State five strokes behind at 290-285-575.

"We had three nice performances today with Jared, Austin and Blake," UC head coach Doug Martin said. "Jared had another great round of golf and both Austin and Blake did a good job of salvaging their rounds with solid play over their final nine holes."
