CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team won its second match of the weekend with a 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23) win over USF on Sunday afternoon in Fifth Third Arena. Freshmen Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South), Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) and Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) each recorded double-doubles in the match to lead the Bearcats.

- With the win, Cincinnati improves to 11-6 on the year and 4-3 in the American Athletic Conference while USF falls to 6-12 and 3-3.
- Tingelhoff completed her seventh-career double-double with 42 assists and a career-high 16 digs.
- Nolan finished with 16 kills and 14 digs for her fifth-career double-double.
- Thompson tied a career high with 24 kills and has recorded double-digit kill totals in 11 consecutive matches. She also tied a career high with 10 digs for her second-career double-double.
- Freshman Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) totaled 11 digs and has finished with double-digit digs in all but one match this season.
- It marked the second time this year that Tingelhoff, Thompson and Nolan all recorded double-doubles in the same match. The trio also recorded the feat on Sept. 23, in a 3-2 loss to Memphis.
- Thompson hit her 24 kills with only two errors on the day for a .400 hitting percentage. It is the seventh time this season the freshman has hit over a .300 clip in a match.
- Junior Lise Alaiwan (Villeneuve Loubet, France/Kedge Business School) had five blocks for the second consecutive match, in just her first two matches for UC.
// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 26, USF 24
- The Bearcats rattled off four straight points, with kills by Tingelhoff, Thompson and sophomore Cortnee Bowser (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) to take an 8-3 lead and force a USF timeout. Out of the break, Williams served in an ace to extend the lead to 9-3.
- The Bulls climbed back to within 15-11 following three consecutive UC errors to force head coach Molly Alvey into a timeout of her own.
- The Bearcats called another timeout after some chaotic play that allowed the Bulls to get within 16-15 but a kill by Bowser ended the run and got Cincinnati back on track.
- A run of three straight points by Nolan, including two kills and a solo block, gave Cincinnati a 21-17 advantage.
- The Bearcats broke a 24-24 tie with a block by Tingelhoff and Alaiwan and a kill by Thompson to end the set victorious at 26-24.
Set 2: UC 25, USF 16
- Cincinnati opened a 7-2 lead with six straight points. Nolan notched two kills in the run while senior Emma Roberson (Brooks, Ky./Evansville) added another. A service ace by Bowser got the Bearcats to seven points and forced a UCF timeout.
- The Bearcats held the lead throughout the set and increased it to 19-6 following a kill by Thompson and a block by Nolan and Bowser.
- On the team's second set-point opportunity, Nolan finished it off with her ninth kill of the match for a 25-16 UC win.
Set 3: USF 25, UC 22
- USF came out of the intermission and scored four of the first five points to grab a 4-1 lead.
- The Bulls carried a five-point lead through the game until back-to-back Nolan kills got UC within 22-19 and forced a USF timeout. The Bulls again called a timeout when Thompson slammed down an overpass to bring the score to 24-22.
- The Bulls capitalized on the next play to win the game 25-22 and keep the match alive.
Set 4: UC 25, USF 23
- Cincinnati scored two in a row off a kill by Thompson and a USF error to tie the set at 8-8 but the Bulls responded with three straight to regain the lead at 11-8.
- USF had a six-point lead until four consecutive points for the Bearcats brought UC within 18-16. The Bulls committed three errors in the run to ignite the run and force a USF timeout.
- Out of the break, the Bearcats continued their run with a kill by Thompson and two more USF errors to take their first lead of the game at 19-18.
- The teams battled to a 23-23 tie before a Thompson kill gave the Bearcats match point at 24-23. On the ensuing play, Thompson and Bowser finished it off with a block to give Cincinnati a 3-1 win in the match.

The Bearcats leave Fifth Third Arena for a four-match stretch down south. Next weekend, UC will play at Tulane on Friday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. ET, before traveling to Houston on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. ET.
