NEW ORLEANS - The University of Cincinnati volleyball team put on a dominating performance on Friday afternoon, beating Tulane 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-20) in American Athletic Conference action. The Bearcats rolled to their third straight win behind the play of freshmen Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) and Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) who paced UC to a .461 hitting percentage, the team's highest since 2003.
// NOTABLES
- With the win, Cincinnati improves to 12-6 on the year and 4-3 in the American Athletic Conference while Tulane falls to 7-12 and 1-6.
- Cincinnati's .461 hitting percentage is the highest for the Bearcats since Nov. 8, 2003, against DePaul.
- Nolan tied a career high with 18 kills and has recorded double-digit kills in 10 matches this season, including five straight. She also recorded a career-high .552 hitting clip to lead the Bearcats.
- Tingelhoff had 41 assists in the three-set match to pace the offense. The freshman also was one dig away from her eighth-career double-double.
- Freshman Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) finished with 13 and has recorded double-digit kill totals in 12 consecutive matches.
- Freshman Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) totaled 13 digs and has finished with double-digit digs in all but one match this season.
- Cincinnati committed a season-low six attacking errors in the match. It is only the second time all season UC has had fewer than 10 hitting errors (Sept, 19 vs. SIUE).
- The trio of Nolan, Thompson and senior Emma Roberson (Brooks, Ky./Evansville) combined for 38 kills with just three errors.
- Cincinnati limited the Green Wave to just one block in the match, a season-low for the UC opponent.
- It is the fifth 3-0 sweep of the season for Cincinnati.

"It was obviously a very successful match offensively" said head coach Molly Alvey. "Everyone found some success today. Tulane came out in the third set with some good adjustments and with a plan and they played us well. I think we were able to respond and adjust to those adjustments. A lot of what we talked about this week in practice and in our team meetings translated onto the court today. l I thought we played a very nice match."
// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 25, TU 18
- Back-to-back kills by Nolan gave the Bearcats an early 8-4 lead and forced a Tulane timeout.
- The lead expanded to 15-10 after a kill by Roberson and a well-placed ace by junior Lindsey Dinkelacker (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Louis).
- Kills by Roberson and Nolan finished off the set with a 25-18 Bearcats victory.
- Nolan (seven kills) and freshman Tingelhoff (15 assists) led Cincinnati in the opening game.
Set 2: UC 25, TU 10
- Cincinnati expanded a two-point advantage to seven points following a 6-1 scoring run that gave the Bearcats a 12-5 lead. Thompson (2), Roberson and sophomore Cortnee Bowser (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) all registered kills during that run.
- Sophomore Parker Shepherd (McKinney, Texas/McKinney Boyd) served in an ace to force a TU timeout at 16-8.
- The Bearcats took advantage of a disorganized Green Wave team to score the final six points of the game, with the help of four Tulane errors, to win 25-10.
Set 3: UC 25, TU 20
- The Green Wave scored in pairs to open a 9-4 lead and force the Bearcats into their first timeout of the match.
- Kills by Bowser and Thompson contributed to a three-point UC run that tied the score at 17-17.
- A Tulane service error and a kill by sophomore Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) on an overpass gave the Bearcats their first lead of the game at 20-19 and forced a Green Wave timeout.
- The Bearcats closed out the match with three consecutive kills by Nolan, Muldrow and Nolan again to earn the conference victory on the road.
