WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - A pair of Bearcats represented the University of Cincinnati tennis program at the 2015 USTA/ITA Women's Ohio Valley Regional Championships hosted by Purdue.
// SINGLES
Lauren Bellinger (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin) and Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North) both competed in singles action at the event. Bellinger had to win a pair of matches in the qualifying draw to earn a spot in the main draw. She defeated Hayley Wild of Morehead State 6-2, 6-1 before topping Marina Guinart of ETSU 6-3, 6-3.
In the main draw, Bellinger faced off with Sydney Campbell of Vanderbilt in the first round, but fell by the score of 6-2, 6-0. Bellinger then moved to the consolation singles bracket where she won 6-1, 6-4, 10-2. The junior then fell to Ellie Yates of Vanderbilt by scores of 6-2, 6-3.
Poggensee-Wei battled to win her first match-up, needing three sets to defeat Carmen Blanco of Ball State. Poggensee-Wei won the first set 6-4 but after Blanco won the second set 6-3, the senior took control of the third set to earn a 6-3 win.
Poggensee-Wei fell in her second singles match to Courtney Colton of Vanderbilt by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

In doubles action, the duo combined to win their first match 8-4 over Blanco and Bethany Moore of Ball Sate. Bellinger and Poggensee-Wei then fell to Hanna Sohn and Ann-Katherin Wind of Memphis by an 8-6 score.
