CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team dropped the second-to-last home match of the season to visiting Memphis Friday night inside Gettler Stadium by a 2-0 score.

After trailing 1-0 in the first half, UC came out aggressive in the second frame, but a late Memphis goal allowed insurance for the Tigers en route to the 2-0 victory.

It marks the just the second home loss for UC and the first since the season opener against DePaul on Aug 21. Cincinnati falls to 10-5-4 (4-3-1) while Memphis improves to 8-6-3 (3-3-2).

The Bearcats held a 21-14 edge in shots on the night including three that hit the crossbar in the second half. Jaycie Brown (Wellington, Ohio/Magnificat) and Julie Gavorski (Madison, Ohio/Madison) led the offensive effort for UC. Brown totaled six shots while Gavorski fired four shots, putting a team-high three on goal.

Memphis - 31' Marie Levasseur (Valerie Sanderson) - Memphis cracked the scoreboard first in the conference match with a cross from Sanderson on the sideline that Levasseur volleyed in the far corner of the net.

Memphis - 73' Chanel Hudson-Marks (unassisted) - Memphis added the insurance goal late in the second half on a Hudson-Marks shot from the right side of the field.
