AMBLER, Pa. -- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at Temple on Saturday afternoon in the regular season's penultimate game. The loss dropped the Bearcats to 7-7-2 and 1-3-3 in American Athletic Conference action. The Owls, who got revenge for a 3-2 UC victory earlier this season, improved to 10-5-2 and 2-5 in league play.

16' - CIN Stefan Bangsund (Alejandro Garcia)
Bangsund (Kent, Wash./Highline College) scored his second goal of the year to spot the Bearcats to an early lead. Garcia crossed the ball across the 18' to the right side of the net and Bangsund was there to slide it home.

17' - TU Belal Mohamed (Jorge Gomez Sanchez)
Mohamed equalized the match just a minute later, sending home a rebound following a saved penalty kick by Gomez Sanchez.

39' - TU Jorge Gomez Sanchez (Belal Mohamed)
This time the roles flipped to give the Owls the lead. Mohamed took a run down the side, then crossed it into Gomez Sanchez who beat a pair of defenders and sent it home.

42' - TU Carlos Moros Garcia (PK)
Moros Garcia gave the hosts an insurance goal late in the first half, converting on a penalty kick.

// POSTSEASON OUTLOOK

Beyond the top two teams, little is settled in The American's table with one week to play. SMU and USF have the top-two seeds locked up, with the Mustangs currently holding 18 points to USF's 16. Beyond that, one point separates five teams. Tulsa and UConn are currently tied for third with seven points each, while Temple, Cincinnati and Memphis all have six points. UCF currently sits in eighth with four points.

The top four teams in the league play host to finishers five through eight during the quarterfinals of The American's men's soccer championship on Friday, Nov. 7.

Cincinnati concludes the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31, at UCF. The Bearcats will be looking for three points as they attempt to earn a home match in the opening round of the conference tournament. Kick off in Orlando, Florida, is set for 7 p.m.
