The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving teams capped a hectic 24-hours that saw them compete in meets at Marshall and Louisville. On Friday night, the Bearcats swept VMI, while the women's squad fell to Marshall. Saturday afternoon saw the Bearcats swept by the Cardinals.

The Cincinnati women continued their dominance in the freestyle events, winning the 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 freestyles. Jacqueline Keire (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) captured the 200 free in 1:50.47, while winning the 100 in 50.56 with a gap of nearly three seconds. Sara Wanasek ( Burlington, Wis./Burlington) captured the 500 with a time of 5:04.16, while she touched in 10:21.06 to capture the 1,000.

On the women's side, Tal Kidron (Tsurit, Israel/Hof HaSharon) and Carlie Perretta (Canton, Ohio/Perry) also collected victories. Kidron won the 200 backstroke in 2:03.89, while Perretta clocked in at 2:22.18 to win the 200 breaststroke.

The men were even more dominant in the freestyle events. Eitan Holder (Caracas, Venezuela/Aviv (Israel)) won the 50 freestyle in 22.09. Connor Davis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) won the 100 free in 47.30 and the 200 free in 1:42.90. The 500 was captured by Justin Crew (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) with a time of 4:40.58, while John Miller (Baton Rouge, La./Parkview Baptist) took the 1,000 free in 9:56.31.

Tyler Roehr (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) won a pair of events on the day. He captured the 400 individual medley, touching in 4:08.60, before winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:06.72. Sophomore Chris Bready (Missouri City, Texas/Lawrence E. Elkins) captured the 200 fly in 1:55.94, while Todd Brannon (Duluth, Ga./Norcross/Colorado School of Mines) won the 200 backstroke in 1:55.56.

The men's diving had a solid afternoon, led by local product Louis Hunt (Lakeside Park, Ky./Covington Catholic). The freshman won the one-meter with a score of 241.95, while he won the three-meter with a mark of 233.05. On the women's side, Ellen Posch (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) led the way, placing third on the one-meter (235.73) and second on the three-meter (258.15).

The Bearcats turned around to swim again on Saturday morning, with both genders falling at former conference foe Louisville. Keire had an outstanding morning following her pair of victories on Friday night. The junior won the 50 free in 23.63, edging Louisville's Mallory Comerford by one-half second. Keire won another narrow win over Comerford in the 100, touching in 50.40, just ahead of Comerford's 50.72. In her final event of the weekend, Keire took the 500 free with a time of 4:58.50.

Bready scored the lone victory of the day for the men, winning the mile in 15:32.89. He was more than 30 seconds ahead of Louisville's Matthias Lindenbauer.
