CINCINNATI
- The University of Cincinnati volleyball team overcame 2-0 deficit in the match to force a fifth game, but ultimately fell 3-2 to UConn on Sunday afternoon in Fifth Third Arena. Freshmen Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) and Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) each recorded double-doubles to lead the Bearcats.

// NOTABLES
- With the loss, Cincinnati falls to 15-8 on the year and 7-5 in The American while UConn improves to 13-10 and 7-5.
- Freshman Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) finished with 15 kills and has recorded double-digit kill totals in 17 consecutive matches.
- Freshman Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) notched 19 digs and has recorded double-digit digs in all but one match this season. She also hit a career-high four service aces in the match.
- Tingelhoff notched her 11th-career double-double with 47 assists and 15 digs. She also tied a career high with three kills.
- Nolan recorded her eighth-career double-double with a match-high 16 kills and 13 digs.
- Junior Lise Alaiwan (Villeneuve Loubet, France/Kedge Business School) had a career-high eight blocks, including two solo blocks.
- Sophomore Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) finished with a career-high eight kills and four blocks for Cincinnati.
- Five UC players recorded double-digit digs in the match, including Williams (19), Tingelhoff (15), Nolan (13), junior Lindsey Dinkelacker (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Louis) (11) and senior Amelia Wegman (Aurora, Ill./Rosary) (10). It is just the third time this season, and second in a row, that five players have accomplished the feat.
- The Bearcats finished with 12.0 blocks in the match and have stuffed double-digit blocks on nine occasions this season.

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UConn 25, UC 20

- The Huskies were firing out of the gate, opening a 6-1 lead and forcing head coach Molly Alvey into an early timeout. The Bearcats helped UConn to the lead with four errors.
- The UConn lead extended to 15-6, causing another UC timeout after a kill and a service ace by the Huskies.
- Cincinnati faced a 21-12 deficit before scoring four straight points and forcing a UConn timeout at 21-16. Muldrow stuffed a solo block in the run while the huskies contributed three errors.
- A kill by Nolan held off one UConn set point before a well-placed kill by UConn's Jade Strawberry finished the set for the Huskies at 25-20.
Set 2: UConn 25, UC 22
- UConn took an early two-point lead and stayed ahead by two or three points throughout much of the game.
- The Bearcats got to within a point at 15-14 following two UConn errors and a kill by Muldrow.
- Cincinnati was finally able to tie the score at 18-18 with back-to-back kills by Nolan and a service ace by Williams to force a UConn timeout.
- The Bearcats took a 22-20 lead in the game after a kill by Nolan, a block by Nolan and Alaiwan and a Husky attacking error.
- UConn surged back into the lead out of the timeout, scoring three straight points for a 23-22 lead and a UC timeout.
- The Huskies continued their scoring run, adding two more points following a UC timeout to win the second game 25-22 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: UC 25, UConn 19
- Alaiwan opened the third game with a kill and back-to-back service aces for a 3-0 Bearcats lead.
- The lead expanded to nine points at 13-4 after kills by Alaiwan and junior Ciara Hill (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook).
- UConn cut the UC lead to 14-8 after a kill and a block but the Bearcats answered with four straight points to go ahead 20-11. Muldrow and Thompson had kills during the run for UC.
- The Huskies again cut the lead to six points at 22-16 after a runoff three straight points.
- Cincinnati used a kill by Nolan and a service ace by Wegman to go ahead 24-17 and won the game three points later on a kill by Nolan.
Set 4: UC 25, UConn 16
- UConn opened a 7-2 lead but Cincinnati scored three in a row to close the gap to 7-5. Muldrow contributed a kill and a block during the run for UC.
- The Bearcats tied the score at 9-9 on a service ace from Williams and took a 10-9 lead on a block by Alaiwan and Hill.
- Three straight kills by Nolan gave the Bearcats a 15-9 lead and forced UConn into its second timeout of the set.
- A four point UC run, that included kills by Thompson and Tingelhoff, gave UC a 20-10 lead.
- Hill and Alaiwan teamed up for a block on set point to win 25-16 and force a fifth set.
Set 5: UConn 15, UC 11
- UConn scored three straight points, with two UC attacking errors, to go ahead 4-2 and force a UC timeout.
- The Bearcats used a three-point rally, capped by Williams' fourth ace of the match, to tie the game at 6-6, but UConn scored the next two points to lead 8-6 at the switch.
- The UConn lead increased to 12-7 before UC responded with a pair of points to get within 12-9.
- The Huskies won the game 15-11 on a UC attacking error to win the match 3-2.
// UP NEXT
The Bearcats remain at Fifth Third Arena for two matches next weekend against Tulsa and SMU. UC will face the Golden Hurricane at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and will match up with the Mustangs at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8.
