Final Results

The University of Cincinnati track & field programs had an exceptional final day at the SPIRE D1 Invitational by garnering 18 top-eight finishes and posting 15 new personal records. The Bearcats were led by freshman Rebecka Abrahamsson, who set a new school record in the women's triple jump.

// ABRAHAMSSON BREAKS TRIPLE JUMP RECORD
The freshman from Sweden had been toying with the triple jump record since her first competition at UC, jumping just one inch off the mark. Abrahamsson finally topped Cincinnati's all-time top mark of 40' 10.25" set by Shintara Carpenter in 2005 with her second leap of the day, which measured 41' 1.5".

//AKERSTROM LEADS THROWERS TO IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE
Senior Frida Akerstrom guided the UC throwers to an impressive performance in the women's shot put with the Bearcats placing three in the top eight. Akerstrom led the way with a runner-up throw of 49' 1". Freshmen Leah Heckaman and Annette Echikunwoke came in sixth and seventh with a pair of career best throws.

// LONE CHAMPION
Junior high jumper Erika Hurd grabbed the lone first-place finish at the high-profile meet by winning the high jump. Hurd cleared 5' 11.25" but needed a jump off to defeat Kent State's Dior Delophont since each reached 5'11.25" with the same number of misses and attempts.
