Regular Season Concludes at Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team capped its 2015-16 regular season on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Kentucky. The Bearcats were swept, with Chris Bready providing the main highlight via a victory in the 1,000 freestyle.

Bready (Missouri City, Texas/Lawrence E. Elkins) captured the 1,000 freestyle in 9:21.90 for the lone UC individual win of the day. Bready also placed second in the 500 freestyle thanks to a time of 4:35.33. The sophomore finished seventh in the 200 freestyle, touching in 1:47.96.

Other highlights included Lindsey Niehaus (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) placing third in the 100 backstroke in 58.09 and Zach Hostoffer (Highland Heights, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) with runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke (57.36), followed by Ludovico Corsini (Cinisello Balsamo, Italy) in third at 57.73. Caroline Sheehan (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) picked-up third place points in the 100 free, touching in 52.92, while Connor Davis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) was second in the same event with a time of 46.19.

The Bearcats now turn their attention to the 2016 American Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, which begin Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Houston, Texas.
