NEW ORLEANS - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team was defeated, 70-51, by the Tulane Green Wave on Monday evening inside Devlin Fieldhouse.
// THE SHORT STORY
Facing a tough opponent on the road on Senior Night, UC fell behind 15-9 following the opening quarter. Already facing a hearty deficit in the second period, a four minute scoring drought to end the quarter proved costly as the Bearcats trailed 31-21 at the half. After an even third quarter, a 7-0 run by the Green Wave during the opening minute of the final period allowed the home team to take control of the game. In total, UC was outscored 13-5 in the fourth as it dropped a 70-51 decision.

- The Bearcats trailed 7-4 at the first media timeout of the night at the 4:02 mark of the opening quarter. Aided by a near three-minute scoring drought by UC, Tulane scored had a 6-0 burst to pull ahead by nine points, 13-4. Cincinnati outscored the Green Wave 5-2 over the duration of the period to trail by a score of 15-9 heading into the second quarter.
- UC was edged in scoring 11-10 in the opening five minutes of the second period, but did reduce its deficit to four early in the quarter. The Green Wave pulled ahead by a then game high 11 points midway through the period as UC then went scoreless over the final 4:11 of the quarter to trail 31-21 at halftime.
- The Bearcats began the third quarter with a 7-2 rally to reduce their deficit to five, 33-28, with 6:34 left in the period. The home team then answered with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to gain its largest lead of the game, 44-28. UC then responded with a 10-4 run to reduce its deficit to 10, 48-38, heading into the final quarter.
- Cincinnati surrendered a 7-0 run to begin the fourth period as Tulane took control of the game. UC was outscored 13-5 in the final quarter.
