CINCINNATI – Former University of Cincinnati men's golfer John Michael O'Toole recorded his first professional victory Saturday at the PGM Clearwater Masters in Perak, Malaysia, carding a 15-under 269.

Playing in his fourth event on the Asian Developmental Tour, O'Toole shot a 1-under par 70 on Saturday at Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort.

"This is my first win since turning professional in 2015," said O'Toole, 22, from Pinson, Ala., in an ADT news release. "I am really thankful. I fought well the whole week, and I have been talking to my mentor Iain Steel (a former ADT winner) every night. He has given me a lot of good advice, and I really appreciate that. I just focused on every shot and never give up till I reach the finishing line."

O'Toole earned $8,482 for the victory. He stands fifth on the ADT money list, one spot behind Gavin Green, a rookie pro from Malaysia who played college golf at New Mexico. Green tied for ninth in the PGM Clearwater Masters. The top 5 money winners earn cards for next season's Asian Tour.

O'Toole played two seasons (2014-2015) with Cincinnati playing in all 24 tournaments with 15 top-30 finishes. His best tournament finish came as a senior when he tied for second place at the Hoosier Invitational with a 3-under 217.
