Keire Caps Collegiate Season at NCAA Championships

ATLANTA --
University of Cincinnati swimmer Jacqueline Keire swam in the final collegiate meet of the season over the weekend, competing at the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. Keire earned honorable mention All-America honors for the second consecutive year, this time placing 15th in the 100 freestyle.

Keire (Burlington, Ont./Nelson) swam a preliminary time of 48.32 in the 100 freestyle, earning a spot in the B-Final and clinching All-American status. She then finished the final in 48.60 to place 15th. The junior also was an All-American last season, placing 16th nationally in the 200 freestyle.

She also qualified for the NCAA meet in the 50 and 200 freestyles. Keire scratched from the 50 freestyle on the first day of competition, before finishing 21st in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.62.

Keire now turns her attention towards the Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials, which will be held April 5-10 in Toronto.
