NASHVILLE -- The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team dropped a midweek BIG EAST Conference contest at Vanderbilt on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Commodores, 13-3.

Schonk put the hosts up 3-0, scoring Vanderbilt's second goal in eight seconds. Schonk scored again from Doherty not quite two minutes later and Alexa Kunowsky added a goal just past nine minutes into the game as part of a 5-0 run over the opening 10 minutes.
0:15 1st - VANDY Julie Blaze
The Bearcats defense buckled down after the opening 10 minutes, and held the Commodores off the scoreboard for the next 20. Blaze broke the stalemate with a goal to put the Commodores up, 7-0, at the half.
18:00 2nd - VANDY Kelly Chandler (Jill Doherty)
Chandler scored three consecutive goals in just over three minutes to put the game away in the opening part of the second half.
14:10 2nd - CIN Amanda Donovan
Donovan got the Bearcats on the scoreboard midway through the second half on a breakaway. Curtis followed less than four minutes later to cut the Vanderbilt lead to 10-2.

The Bearcats return home to the Sheakley Athletics Center on Saturday, April 16, to host BIG EAST foe Georgetown. Opening draw is set for Noon ET and admission is complimentary as part of the Experience UC program. The team will honor its six seniors prior to the start of the game.
