University of Cincinnati junior Jared O'Kelley posted a final-round 1-over par 73 Sunday to complete his lowest three-round tournament score of the spring season at 1-over 73-71-73=217, tying for 18th place at the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana.
O'Kelley carded three birdies and 13 par scores Sunday at the Kampen Golf Course (par 72, 7465 yards). He finished the 54-hole event with 10 birdies and par scores on 36 holes.
Fellow Bearcat, senior Emerson Newsome finished two strokes behind O'Kelley, tying for 22nd place at 3-over 72-72-75=219. Freshman Austin Squires tied for 51st place at 9-over 75-7476=225.
Illinois' Charlie Danielson claimed medalist honors with a 9-under 70-65-72=207. Second-ranked Illinois won the team title, posting a 17-under 280-277-290=847. Cincinnati finished 11th in the 15-team event at 28-over 298-292-302=892.
