CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss to crosstown rival Xavier Wednesday afternoon at the Western Tennis & Fitness Club.

The Bearcats struggled to gain momentum during doubles play as Xavier picked up wins on courts No. 2 and 3 to clinch the point. Play on court No. 1 was stopped after the point was decided.

Xavier was able to carry the momentum from doubles action in to singles, taking the first four matches to earn the 5-0 win. Play on courts No. 1 and No. 6 were both halted after the match had been decided. Ali Miller (Portsmouth, Ohio) won her opening set 6-3 and was tied with Sydney Liggens in the second set 4-4 when play was stopped.
