Nolan, Tingelhoff Double-Doubles Pace Bearcats in Home Loss

CINCINNATI
– Sophomores Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) and Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) each recorded their second double-double of the season to pace the University of Cincinnati in a 3-0 (18-25, 21-25, 25-27) loss to Miami University on Wednesday night in Fifth Third Arena. It was the first home match of the season for the Bearcats who played on the road for the first three weeks of the year.

Nolan collected 12 kills and 12 digs while Tingelhoff added 24 assists and a team-high 14 digs for the Bearcats.

// NOTABLES
- Cincinnati fell to 4-6 on the year while Miami improved to 7-4.
- Sophomore Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) had a match-high 15 kills and has reached double-digit kills in all but two matches this season.
- Freshman Sabrina Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) collected a career-high seven digs for Cincinnati.
- The Bearcats doubled up the RedHawks in blocks (6.0 to 3.0) and were led by junior Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) who totaled three.
- The RedHawks were held without a service ace on the night, marking the first time all season that UC did not get aced by its opponent.

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: MU 25, UC 18
- The RedHawks held a 4-0 lead before the Bearcats got on the board with a kill by Thompson.
- A three-point scoring run, led by two kills from Thompson, got UC within 8-4 and another three consecutive points made it 14-10 but UC could get no closer.
- A kill by MU's Meredith Stutz forced a Cincinnati timeout at 19-14 and the RedHawks kept the momentum with four points out of the break for a 23-14 advantage.
Set 2: MU 25, UC 21
- UC held a 7-4 lead before four straight kills by the RedHawks put the visitors ahead 8-7.
- UC stopped the run with a MU attacking error but Miami answered with seven of the next eight points.
- Back-to-back UC blocks by Muldrow/redshirt sophomore Elly Ogle (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./LSU) and Nolan/redshirt senior Alison Kimmel (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) combined with a service ace from sophomore Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) got the Bearcats within20-17 but another four-point Miami run slammed the door.
Set 3: MU 27, UC 25
- The teams traded points throughout the third game until a kill by senior Ciara Hill (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) forced a Miami timeout with a 21-20 UC lead.
- Another Hill kill made it 23-22 Bearcats and a kill by Nolan gave Cincinnati set point at 24-22.
- UC was forced into a timeout when kills by Maris Below and Katie Tomasic tied the game at 24-24. Another Nolan kill gave UC its second set point but Below and Tomasic teamed again for three straight kills and a 27-25 Miami win.
