CINCINNATI
- Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) and Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) put on clinical performance on Friday evening as the University of Cincinnati volleyball team swept USF 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-13) in American Athletic Conference action in Fifth Third Arena. The sophomores had each secured a double-double before the end of the second game, marking Thompson's sixth and Nolan's fifth of the season.

Nolan finished with a match-high 16 kills and 15 digs while hitting at a .424 attacking clip. Thompson chipped in 15 kills and a match and career-high 19 digs with a .400 attacking percentage. Together the tandem finished just one kill shy of the entire USF team.

// NOTABLES
- Cincinnati improves to 7-7 on the year and 2-1 in The American while USF falls to 10-5 and 1-2 in the league.
- The Bearcats improve to 18-12 all-time against the Bulls and have won the last three matches in the series.
- Thompson has hit double-digit kills in 12 matches this season while Nolan has registered the feat on nine occasions.
- It was the fourth sweep of the season for the Bearcats, having also picked up 3-0 wins over Louisiana-Monroe, IUPUI and Furman.
- Collectively, the team hit at a .321 attacking percentage and is 4-0 on the season when hitting .250 or better.
- Sophomore setter Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) quarterbacked the team's offense with 36 assists and added three digs, two blocks and two kills.
- Junior Maya Muldrow (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) had six kills and a match-high three blocks.
- UC led USF in all statistical categories, including kills (46-32), attacking percentage (.321-.123), assists (43-29), service aces (4-1), digs (55-43) and blocks (5.0-4.0).

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 25, USF 23
- The Bearcats opened a 5-4 lead after a block by Muldrow and Tingelhoff, but the Bulls answered with four straight points for an 8-5 lead, forcing head coach Molly Alvey into a timeout.
- UC got back to even at 9-9 and traded points with the Bulls until a three-point scoring run that included a service ace by sophomore Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) put the Bearcats ahead 19-16.
- USF took its final timeout of the game after back-to-back kills by Nolan and Thompson put UC ahead 21-17.
- USF used three consecutive UC errors to tie the score at 23-23 but Thompson slammed the door with two straight kills to win the first game for UC 25-23.
Set 2: UC 25, USF 20
- Cincinnati opened the game with kills by redshirt senior Alison Kimmel (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Noth), senior Ciara Hill (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook), Thompson and Muldrow for a 5-2 lead, but in similar fashion to the first game, USF scored four straight points to get within 8-7 and bring a UC timeout.
- Out of the break, UC scored five of the next six points to go back in front 13-8.
- Another pair of Thompson and Nolan kills surged Cincinnati to a 23-18 lead and a kill by Nolan ended the second game with a 25-20 UC victory.
Set 3: UC 25, USF 13
- The Bearcats controlled the third game from start to finish, racing to an 11-7 lead with two kills by Nolan and a USF attacking error.
- A five point scoring run for Cincinnati, with two kills by the setter Tingelhoff and a Muldrow/Tingelhoff block, put the home team ahead 21-12.
- A kill by the Bulls' Dakota Hampton delayed one match point for Cincinnati, but a USF blocking error on the next play resulted in a Nolan kill and a match victory for UC.

Cincinnati continues its home weekend when it welcomes UCF to Fifth Third Arena on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. Due to the FC Cincinnati playoff game, all garages on campus will be $10 parking on Sunday.
