CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati sophomore Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) carded a final-round 3-under par 69 Sunday to finish tied for 10th place at 1-under 73-73-69=215 at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational at the Steelwood Country Club (par 72; 7,096 yards) in Loxley, Alabama.

Squires registered his 10th below-par round of the fall season thanks to five birdies, 13 par scores and only two bogeys Sunday. It marked his seventh below-70 score in 18 rounds and fourth top-10 finish of the fall.

Bearcat senior Jared O'Kelley (Canton, Ga./Creekview High School) finished the event three strokes behind Squires, tying for 21st place at 2-over 71-73-74=218. It marked O'Kelley's fifth consecutive top-25 finish of the fall.

Kennesaw State's Conner Coffee claimed medalist honors, posting a 12-under 66-70-68=204 score.

As a team, the Bearcats completed its fall season 10th in the 11-team event at 27-over 292-304-295=891. Kennesaw State won the team crown at 27-under 278-280-279=837.

"I'm very pleased with both Austin and Jared's play this fall," UC head coach Doug Martin said. "They were very consistent in all phases of the game. "Overall, I'm very frustrated with our last 72 holes. There were too many unforced errors.

"As we move into the offseason, we need to make strides in the weight room and finish off the semester in the classroom," Martin said. "Come January, we must be ready to take another step forward."
