STORRS, Conn. - Sophomore Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina) recorded her 10th double-double of the season to lead the University of Cincinnati volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-17) sweep over the UConn Huskies in Connecticut on Sunday afternoon.
Thompson scored a match-high 11 kills and collected a match-high 10 digs to lead the Bearcats. Additionally, she recorded a career-high four service aces after tying her previous mark with three in the last match at Temple on Friday.

- Cincinnati improves to 18-9 on the year and 13-3 in The American while UConn falls to 16-11 and 7-9 in the league.
- Cincinnati leads the overall series with the Huskies 12-6 after picking up two wins over UConn this season.
- Senior Ciara Hill (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) recorded 10 kills and finished as the only other player in the match to score double-digit kills.
- Redshirt senior Alison Kimmel (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) led the way with four blocks while senior Lise Alaiwan (Villeneuve Loubet, France/Kedge Business School) chipped in three.
- Thompson has recorded double-digit kills in 24 matches this season while Hill has reached the milestone on 15 occasions.
- The Bearcats held UConn to a .143 attacking percentage and are 18-3 on the year when their opponent hits below the mark. It is the 13th time in the last 14 matches that they have kept their opponent under .250.
- The Huskies topped the Bearcats in kills (39-37) and assists (38-31) but committed 24 attacking errors to just seven for the UC. Cincinnati led UConn in aces (eight-three) and blocks (7.0-2.0)
- The Bearcats recorded eight service aces for the second consecutive match. Thompson's four were a career high while senior Lindsey Dinkelacker (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Louis) added a pair.

Set 1: UC 25, UConn 15
- The Bearcats scored four straight points, led by Thompson with a kill and an ace, to go ahead 7-4.
- Another Cincinnati scoring run of three points brought the score to 12-7 and forced a UConn timeout. Sophomore setter Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) scored a kill during the run while Kimmel and Hill teamed for a block.
- The Bearcats again scored in bunches, using a four-point rally for a 17-10 lead before two more points out of the break gave the visitors a 19-10 advantage.
- Thompson finished the game with a kill from the back row to win the set 25-15.
- Cincinnati hit .429 in the game with just one attacking error.
Set 2: UC 25, UConn 23
- Cincinnati raced to a 6-1 lead in the second set behind kills by Thompson and Alaiwan and four UConn attacking errors.
- The Huskies got within 13-10 after three straight points, including a pair of Cincinnati errors, to force the Bearcats into a timeout.
- UConn fought back to tie the score at 16-16 but three straight Bearcats points forced a Huskies timeout at 19-16. A service ace by sophomore Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) out of the break extended the lead to 20-16.
- Another UConn surge made it 22-21 but the Bearcats answered with a kill by Hill and a block by Nolan/Kimmel for a 24-21 advantage.
- Thompson again ended the game with a kill for a 2-0 Cincinnati lead in the match.
Set 3: UC 25, UConn 17
- The Huskies scored four in a row to erase a 7-3 UC lead and force a Bearcats timeout with a 7-7 score.
- UConn continued its run to a 10-7 lead but the Bearcats stormed back with five straight points, paced by a strong service game from Nolan, for a 12-10 lead and a Huskies timeout.
- Cincinnati broke a 17-17 tie with four straight points, including a kill by Nolan and Thompson's third ace of the match, to go ahead 21-17 and bring a UConn timeout.
- Out of the break, the Bearcats continued their scoring run with four more points, and another Thompson ace, to win the set 25-17 and win the match 3-0.

The Bearcats return to Cincinnati for the final three matches of the season at Fifth Third Arena on Nov. 17, 19 and 23. UC will kick off the homestand with Tulane at 7 p.m. on Thursday before hosting Houston at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The match vs. the Cougars will be streamed live on the American Digital Network and will represent alumnae weekend and senior day for the Bearcats. UC will play its final home match of 2016 against East Carolina at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
