CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team closed out the Bearcats Midseason Invitational on Saturday night at the Keating Aquatic Center. The team set four more school records to go along with 12 pool records as it raced Carson-Newman and Indiana State.

The teams raced in the 100 IM event with two school records being set in the morning preliminary rounds. Senior Jacqueline Keire (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) broke through with a time of 57.10 while junior Eitan Holder (Caracas, Venezuela/Aviv (Israel) won the men's prelim race in 51.23.

Junior Sara Wanasek (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) swam the grueling 1650 freestyle, touching the wall in 16:24.76 to claim a new school and pool record along with an NCAA B-Cut. On the men's side, junior Chris Bready (Missouri City, Texas/Lawrence E. Elkins) set a new Keating Aquatic Center record and hit the NCAA B-Cut with a time of 15:15.32.

In addition to her school record in the 100 IM during prelims, Keire set another program record in the 100 freestyle, bringing her total to five school records during the Bearcats Midseason Invitational. In the 100 free, she finished with a time of 47.99, nearly three seconds ahead of the field, to claim another NCAA B-Cut.

The diving team will next compete at the Miami Diving Invitational Dec. 1-3 in Oxford, Ohio. The next swimming competition will come on Dec. 19 in a training trip meet against Florida Atlantic and Georgia Tech in Naples, Florida.
