CINCINNATI
- The University of Cincinnati volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-16) win over Houston on Saturday afternoon in Fifth Third Arena. The match represented Senior Day for the Bearcats who celebrated the careers of Lise Alaiwan (Villeneuve Loubet, France/Kedge Business School), Lindsey Dinkelacker (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Louis), Ciara Hill (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) and Alison Kimmel (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) in a postmatch ceremony.

All four of the graduating players contributed mightily to the Cincinnati victory, led by Hill's match-high 13 kills and .478 hitting percentage. Defensively, Kimmel had seven blocks and Alaiwan finished with four while Dinkelacker picked up eight digs.

// NOTABLES
- Cincinnati improves to 20-9 on the year and 15-3 in The American while Houston falls to 5-14 and 0-18 in the league.
- Cincinnati leads the overall series with the Cougars 12-8 after picking up two wins over UH this season.
- Sophomore Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) tied Hill with 13 kills and added 13 digs for her team-leading 12th double-double of the season.
- Nolan has recorded double-digit kills in 21 matches this season while Hill has reached the milestone on 16 occasions.
- Kimmel also recorded seven blocks on Thursday night vs. Tulane and finished the weekend with 14 in just six sets played.
- The Bearcats held Houston to a .071 attacking percentage and are 20-3 on the year when their opponent hits below the .250 mark. It is the 15th time in the last 16 matches that they have kept their opponent under .250 and the second straight match where the other team his below .100.
- Cincinnati topped the Cougars in kills (41-27), hitting percentage (.270-.071), assists (39-27), digs (46-37) and blocks (11.0-4.0).
- With the sweep, Cincinnati won its 10th consecutive set, a feat they have accomplished twice this season (also vs. Houston on Oct. 13). Prior to this season, the Bearcats had not won 10 straight sets since the 2010 season.

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 25, UH 17
- The Cougars were forced into an early timeout when a 6-1 UC scoring run that included three straight Nolan kills and a block by Nolan/Alaiwan made it 8-2.
- Cincinnati scored at least two points at a time through the next four rotations and opened an 18-8 lead to bring about the second Houston timeout of the game.
- Houston used three straight UC errors to get within 24-17 but then served it long to give the Bearcats the 25-17 win.
Set 2: UC 25, UH 15
- Cincinnati scored five straight points, including a kill by Hill and a block by Kimmel and sophomore Jordan Thompson (Edina, Minn./Edina), to go ahead 6-2.
- The Bearcats were forced into a timeout after a string of errors cut their lead to 11-10 but answered with seven of the next nine points. Three consecutive blocks by Alaiwan pushed UC to an 18-12 advantage.
- UC closed the set with four straight points and a Hill kill to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
Set 3: UC 25, UH 16
- The Bearcats found themselves down 7-4 early in the third game but mounted a furious comeback and a kill by Thompson gave them a 10-9 lead.
- Houston again pulled within a point at 16-15 but Thompson ended the threat with a powerful kill that kick started an 8-1 run to finish the match. Hill, Tingelhoff, Thompson and Nolan all recorded kills in the final stretch while Kimmel combined with teammates for a pair of blocks.

Cincinnati will play its last home match of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 23, when it hosts East Carolina for an early match at noon.
