MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Cincinnati volleyball sophomore Jordan Thompson became the quickest player to 1,000 career kills in both school and American Athletic Conference history as she led the Bearcats to a 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 20-25, 25-16) victory at Memphis on Friday afternoon. The Edina, Minnesota, native recorded 27 kills, 12 digs and four service aces while hitting at a .421 clip to cap off her banner day.
Thompson became the 18th member of UC's 1,000 kills club and the only person to join the list during their sophomore season. She is the first player to record the feat since 2012.
The match wrapped up the 2016 regular season with a 22-9 overall record and a 17-3 mark in The American, securing a second-place finish in the league. The Bearcats now will await their postseason fate when the NCAA volleyball championship selection show airs Sunday, Nov. 27, at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.

- In addition to her 1,000th career kill, Thompson recorded her 11th double-double of the season with her 27 kills and 12 digs.
- Sophomore Jade Tingelhoff (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) picked up her 10th double-double of the season with 43 assists and 13 digs while sophomore Carly Nolan (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) notched her 13th of the season with 11 kills and 15 digs.
- Thompson's four aces tied her career best mark.
- Nolan's 15 digs led the way defensively for the Bearcats while sophomore Abby Williams (Loveland, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) chipped in 14, Tingelhoff added 13 and Thompson had 12. It is the fifth time this season at least four Bearcats have finished a match with double-digit digs.
- Redshirt senior Alison Kimmel (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) again led Cincinnati at the net with six blocks. It marks her third consecutive match with at least six blocks.
- The Bearcats held Memphis to a .163 attacking percentage and are 22-3 on the year when their opponent hits below the .250 mark. It is the 17th time in the last 18 matches that they have kept their opponent under .250.
- Cincinnati topped the Tigers in kills (51-44), hitting percentage (.246-.163), assists (50-38), service aces (12 to four), digs (67-66) and blocks (9.0-8.5).
- The Tigers' win in the third set snapped a streak of 15 consecutive games won by the Bearcats.
