Final Stats

NEW ORLEANS - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team fell Wednesday night, 62-51, to the Tulane Green Wave inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena at Devlin Fieldhouse.

UC dropped to 15-10 overall and 6-6 in American Athletic Conference play, while TU improved to 16-10 on the season and 7-6 in the league. With the win, the Green Wave swept the regular season series.

A pair of Bearcats reached double-figure scoring as junior guard Ana Owens (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) scored a game-high 17 points, while senior guard Bianca Quisenberry (Springfield, Ohio/Tecumseh) pitched in 10. The Green Wave, too, had a pair of double-digit scorers as Meredith Schulte posted a team-best 14 points, while Kolby Morgan recorded a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.

A rough shooting night in which the Bearcats fired at a 29.7 percent clip (19-of-64), while the Green Wave made 48.9 percent (22-of-45) of their shots proved costly. UC played the home team even in the second half but an 11-0 Tulane run early in the second quarter was critical.

After the Bearcats fell behind 13-8 following one quarter, UC scored six-straight points to take a 14-13 lead early in the second period. The Green Wave responded with an 11-0 streak to hold a 24-14 advantage four minutes into the second. The Bearcats cut their deficit to six, 24-18, midway through the quarter before TU ended the first half on a 7-2 run to bring the score to 31-20 at the break.

UC fell behind by a game-high 15 points four minutes into the second half but answered back with a 9-4 run over the next three minutes to trail 42-32. Facing a 48-36 deficit with just a quarter left to play, the Bearcats were unable to get closer than nine points as they dropped a 62-51 road decision.
