HOUSTON - Senior Jacqueline Keire (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) won gold in the women's 200 freestyle to highlight the third day of competition at the American Athletic Conference Championship for the University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team. The Bearcats picked up a pair of medals on Friday and combined for eight NCAA B-cuts, one NCAA A-cut, four school records and one meet record.

"We raced hard today and had some great performances" said head coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle. We are excited headed into the last day of competition and are looking forward to fighting to the finish."

// WOMEN'S 200 FREESTYLE
Keire cemented her place in The American history by winning the women's 200 freestyle for the fourth consecutive year. She became one of only two people to win the same event four times when she touched first in a time of 1:43.48. It marks her second NCAA A-cut of the season and her second meet record of the weekend.

// MEN'S 100 BREASTSTROKE
The Bearcats' second podium finish of the night was in the men's 200 breaststroke where sophomore Zach Hostoffer (Highland Heights, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) took the silver in a school-record time of 53.61. The time also earned him an NCAA B-cut.

// SCHOOL RECORDS FALL
In addition to Hostoffer's program best in the 200 breaststroke, junior Samantha Wheatley (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) and sophomore Natalie Obando (Herndon, Va./Towson) each set a school record on the night for the Bearcats. One night after breaking the school record in the women's 200 IM, Wheatley reset her own mark in the 400 IM on Friday, touching fifth in a time of 4:17.93 for an NCAA B-Cut. Obando took seventh in the women's 100 backstroke with an NCAA B-Cut time of 54.88.
