// KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the Fifth
With a 1-0 lead, the Demons used a double, a walk and a hit batter to load the bases with one out. A groundout scored the second NSU run of the day and a two-out single by Regan Kaufman scored two more for a 4-0 lead by the home team.
Top of the Sixth
The Bearcats looked threatening in the sixth, loading the bases with no outs but a double-play and a runners interference kept UC scoreless through the first four batters of the frame. With two outs and a pair of runners in scoring position, McVey lined a single into left field to score Thompson and junior Treg Haberkorn (Leo, Ind./Leo) to cut the deficit to 4-2.
Bottom of the Eighth
The Demons slammed the door on any potential Cincinnati comeback with a 2-RBI single by Tyler Smith for a 6-2 lead in the eighth inning.
