CINCINNATI – Senior Elaina Enich (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) tied her career high with four goals but the University of Cincinnati lacrosse team could not withstand a late rally from Temple, falling 11-9 on Wednesday afternoon at the Sheakley Athletics Center.
The Bearcats held a 9-5 advantage with 8:31 remaining in the game, but the Owls stormed back, scoring six unanswered goals for the 11-9 final score. The UC defensive line held strong for most of the game, keeping Temple to just five goals through 51 minutes played, but could not contain TU in the final segment of the clock.

Enich scored her first goal of the day after collecting what appeared to be a Cincinnati turnover deep in the Temple defensive third. She snatched the ball out of the air and fired an immediate shot into the cage for a 2-1 Bearcats lead.

The second goal for the senior was the start of a big momentum swing in favor of the Bearcats. With just under five minutes to play before halftime she maneuvered around a defender and sent a shot across the face of the cage to tie the score at 3-3.

Just 10 seconds after Enich tied the score, Nissen scored her second goal of the season to give Cincinnati the lead. She won the draw control and took the ball straight to the cage for a 4-3 UC advantage.

After battling from a four-goal deficit to within one, Temple tied the game at 9-9 on a goal from Brenda McDermott. It was her third goal of the game and second consecutive goal to swing the momentum back in the Owls' favor. The game-winning goal came two minutes later from Carly DeMato.
