CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati baseball team lost 6-0 to East Carolina in an American Athletic Conference matchup, Saturday at Marge Schott Stadium.
UC was stymied all game by ECU starter Evan Kruczysnki. The Bearcats had a two-out single by Connor McVey (Mason, Ohio/Mason) in the first and the Pirates pitching staff sat down the final 25 batters they faced.
ECU snapped a 10-game AAC losing streak with the win and moved to 21-19 on the season. UC fell to 20-19, 5-6 in American games.
The Pirates took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on the strength of three-straight hits to open the inning. Spencer Brickhouse hit a double to left center that scored Charlie Yorgen and Eric Tyler. ECU added two more in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the ninth to make the final 6-0.
Kruczynski his first win of the year, going 8.0 innings, giving up the one early hit with no walks and six strikeouts. David Orndorff (Pasadena, Calif./Pasadena Polytechnic) got the loss, dropping to 2-4 on the year. Orndorff gave up five hits and four runs over 5.2 innings with three strikeouts and a walk.

· UC is 12-8 at Marge Schott Stadium in 2017.
· Kyle Mottice (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Jackson) returned to the starting lineup for the first time since April 1.
· UC was last shut out on May 15, 2016, a 4-0 loss against Houston at Marge Schott Stadium.
· The Bearcats one hit was a season-low. The previous mark was three in the second game of the season at Northwestern State.

The series wraps up Sunday with Bark in the Park and Family Day beginning at noon. The first 250 dogs (or dog owners) will receive a Cincinnati Bearcats bandana presented by Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs. Bark in the Park participants will enjoy the game from a special section down the first base line. After the game, fans can take the field to run the bases. Family day packages are available for $20. Participating families can receive four tickets, four hot dogs and four 12-ounce sodas for $20.
