CINCINNATI - Former University of Cincinnati swimming and diving student-athlete Connor Davis (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) closed his career with a high honor, being named Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) on Thursday. Davis was selected as a member of the men's District 5 At-Large team, one of 10 student-athletes chosen from a variety of sports across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
The award is designed to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Davis, who just completed his four-year swimming career with the Bearcats, was a two-time All-Conference honoree in 2017 as a member of both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. He helped break a pair of program records this season in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and set six Keating Aquatic Center records throughout the year. He won 16 total races and eight individual swims, including the 200 freestyle (twice), the 50 freestyle (twice) and the 100 freestyle (four times).
In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Davis maintained a 3.96 GPA while majoring in neuroscience and psychology with plans to attend Physician's Assistant school. He is a three-time Conference All-Academic team member and a Jimmy Nippert Award nominee for his commitment to academics, athletics and community service.
