Former University of Cincinnati guard Troy Caupain (Midlothian, Virginia/Cosby HS) and the Toronto Raptors begin play in NBA Summer League action Friday in Las Vegas.

Caupain signed a contract with Toronto to play in the event on June 23.

NBA Summer League 2017 in Las Vegas will feature a record 24 NBA teams in a tournament-style schedule which concludes with a championship game for the fifth consecutive year. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 7-11, before being seeded in a tournament that starts July 12 and culminates with the championship game July 17. Each team will play at least five games.

The Raptors open the preliminary round Friday, July 7 against the New Orleans Pelicans at Cox Pavilion (3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET). All games will be played on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus.

Caupain finished his career as the only player in school history with more than 1,300 points and 500 assists. He handed out a school-record 515 career assists and tallied 1,317 career points, tying former Bearcats guard Cashmere Wright for 22nd place on Cincinnati's all-time scoring list.

Caupain compiled 102 career victories, ranking second behind only Steve Logan (111 from 1999-2002). He helped the Bearcats to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and a share of the 2014 American Athletic Conference regular-season championship.

Caupain finished his senior season in 2016-17, averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists. His 3.36-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked fifth in the nation.
