Bearcats Earn All-Academic Team Honors from GCAA

The University of Cincinnati men's golf team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America the organization announced this week.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's golf team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America the organization announced this week. 

The Bearcats were one of 100 NCAA Division I programs to earn the recognition after registering a cumulative 3.0 or better grade-point average for the 2016-17 academic year. 

Under head coach Doug Martin, the UC men's golf team registered a 3.603 GPA during the spring semester, breaking the team record set in the fall while also standing as the best in the athletics department, leading all men's teams. 

Earlier this month, 10 men's golf student-athletes were named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, including Davis Baxter, Jake Fox, Blake Hamilton, Chad Howard, Kirran Magowan, Andrew Mayhew, Jared O'Kelley, Scot Sapp, Austin Squires, and Brennen Walsh. Baxter, Howard and Sapp recorded a 4.0 GPA during the spring semester.
