COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Cincinnati women's basketball head coach Jamelle Elliott was announced Thursday as a court coach for the 2017 Women's U23 National Team by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee.
 
Elliott will assist the coaching staff of head coach Jeff Walz (Louisville) and assistant coaches Courtney Banghart (Princeton) and Michelle Clark-Heard (Western Kentucky) during training camp as the team prepares for play in the 2017 U23 Four Nations Tournament. Additionally, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma will serve as the lead clinician during camp while Cori Close of UCLA will also be a court coach. The Four Nations Tournament, which will include the USA, Australia, Canada and Japan, will be a round-robin tournament played Aug. 12-15 in at Katayanagi Arena in Tokyo.
 
The 12-member team that will represent the USA in an inaugural U23 Four Nations Tournament for college-aged women this summer in Tokyo, Japan, is expected to be announced on Aug. 4. Players selected to the team will continue training at the USOTC through Aug. 7 before departing for Tokyo. Athletes eligible for this team must be U.S. citizens who are 23 years old or younger and currently are freshmen, sophomores or juniors in college.
 
Elliott is back for a second-consecutive summer with USA Basketball after serving as a court coach and advance scout during the national team's run for gold at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
