CINCINNATI - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its annual academic awards with the University of Cincinnati collecting several honors. The Bearcats were named as an ITA All-Academic Team while six individuals also earned ITA All-Academic honors.

The Bearcats were named to the ITA All-Academic Team Award list after meeting the 3.20 GPA threshold. This honor marks the fourth straight year of recognition for the team, beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.
The team finished the year with a 3.611 GPA to earn their place on the list as one of 302 teams, both men's and women's, that were honored.
// INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS
Individually, six different Bearcats were selected for academic honors as each held a 3.50 or better GPA for the year and met the following criteria:
- varsity letter winner
- enrolled at the present school for at least 2 semesters
The four women that earned a place on the academic list include Natalia Abdalla (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Augusto Laranja), Katya Bure (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton, Ali Miller (Portsmouth, Ohio/Portsmouth), Caroline Morton (Dubuque, Iowa/Evert Tennis Academy), Anna Philp (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Central) and Kelly Poggensee-Wei (Lake Villa, Ill./Grayslake North). All told, the six Bearcats were listed among the 1,521 honorees for the 2016-17 tennis season.
Collectively, the six honors for UC marked the fourth year in a row that the program had
