TicketsCINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team has earned national recognition for its academic achievement as the Bearcats were added to the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads list. The Bearcats earned a place on the list by carrying a cumulative 3.0 or better grade-point average for the 2016-17 academic year.
UC is one of 314 schools across all divisions of collegiate women's lacrosse that were honored this year. The Bearcats also are one of 99 NCAA Division I teams honored this year.
On an individual level, a trio of Bearcats were honored earlier this summer by the IWLCA as they earned placement on the 2017 NCAA Division I Academic Honor Roll as each maintained at least a 3.50 GPA during the academic year. Those honorees included recent graduate Elaina Enich, senior Lauren Hudson and junior Schulyer Nissen.
Those were not the only academic honors earned in 2017 as 19 Bearcats were selected to the BIG EAST Conference All-Academic Team. Along with the three individuals that earned IWLCA honors, the Bearcats that were recognized by the BIG EAST included Monica Borzillo, Liz Burgee, Julia Byrne, Bridge Cleary, Maria Collacchi, Skylar DeLemos, Amanda Donovan, Giuliana Durso, Alexandra Fess, Amanda Fess, Madison Foery, Hannah Hinsch, Taylor Kozloski, Alex MacAffer, Jayde Sains and Katie Stegmann.
