2017 Taipei World University Games
CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's golf senior Christina Gloor will be a member of Team Switzerland at the 2017 Taipei World University Games, Aug. 24-27, at Sunrise Golf & Country Club in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
Due to an injury to one of the Swiss players, Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) was added to the team as a substitute. The Universiade will consist of strokeplay with no cut. The two best scores out of three players for each team will count, with individual rankings also included.
"When I got the call to go to Taipei," said Gloor, "I don't think I couldn't have been happier. It was always a goal of mine to play for Switzerland and represent them at an international tournament. Plus, being able to be there as a Bearcat and to represent UC on such a big stage is an honor in itself."
The World University Games, known around the world as Universiade, is an international multi-sport event organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation. The Universiade is an international sporting and cultural festival staged every two years in a different city around the world, representing both winter and summer competitions. It is second only in importance to the Olympic Games.
With more than 170 countries competing in 22 sports, the World University Games are held every other year and are organized by the International University Sports Federation. The event is a multi-sport competition open to men and women between the ages of 17 and 24, and who have been, within the past year, a student at a college or university.

She was the Bearcats' top finisher in four events including a season-best tie for 13th place at the Jacksonville Web.com Intercollegiate (April 3-4) and carded a career best round of 70 at the Jacksonville Amelia Island Collegiate (Feb. 20-21). Gloor tied for 32nd overall at the 2017 American Athletic Conference Championship.
