// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: ISU, 25-14

• The hosts jumped out to a 6-0 lead to open the set and never looked back. Nolan recorded the first kill out of a timeout to halt the opening run by the Redbirds, but ISU would add two and three-point runs the rest of the way to pull away. Trailing 17-7, the Bearcats struck back with a three-point run of their own, but the hosts added a pair of multi-point runs to close out the set, 25-14, and take a 1-0 lead. Both Nolan and Stamatiou recorded three kills each to lead the attack while both added a pair of digs each. Maya Eller posted a team-high five digs in the stanza while Tingelhoff recorded seven assists.

Set 2: ISU, 25-21
• UC built two-point leads throughout the early stages of the set with ISU tying the score each time before another UC run. Once the set was tied a 9-9, the Redbirds took the lead at 12-10, their first lead since 1-0, before UC continued to battle back and got things tied up at 18-18. But, at that point, the hosts went on a 5-0 run and moved ahead, 23-19, before the Bearcats could halt the run with a Muldrow kill. After a two-point run brought the visitors to within two at 23-21, but the Redbirds killed off the next two points to take the set, 25-21. Through the set, Nolan moved ahead in kills to seven overall for the Bearcats while Stamatiou was second with four. Tingelhoff ended the set with 15 assists for the match while four different Bearcats had four or more digs through the set.

Set 3: UC, 26-24
• The Bearcats persevered to win the third set and did so in gritty fashion despite an early run by ISU. After leading, 2-1, the Redbirds went on a 7-0 run to take an 8-2 lead. The Bearcats then began to chip away and put together an 8-3 run of their own that brought UC to within one at 10-11 and forced the hosts to call timeout. After the break, UC tied the set at 11-11 before the lead began to change hands several times the rest of the way. UC went on a 4-0 run to take an 18-15 lead and eventually led 19-17 before a pair of runs by ISU got the score to 23-21 in favor of the visitors. From there, ISU went on a 2-0 run to tie the match at 23-23 before the Redbirds committed a service error and a kill of their own to re-tie the score at 24-24. From there, however, it was an Ogle kill and an ISU attack error that closed the set with the Bearcats clawing closer, 2-1.

Set 4: UC, 25-22
• The Redbirds opened on a pair of big runs to take a 7-1 lead and force UC to call timeout. From there, however, the Bearcats put together a 7-3 run of their own to get to within two at 10-8. Another ISU run would stretch the lead to 13-8, but the Bearcats again fought back, chipping away at the lead until eventually tying the score at 18-18 and force a second ISU timeout. From there, UC fell behind again but came back to eventually take a 22-21 lead. ISU tied the match at 22-22, but UC would go on a 3-0 run to take the set and force a decisive fifth.

Set 5: ISU, 16-14
• After trading leads to open the set, the Bearcats found themselves down, 6-4, before calling timeout. From there, a 3-0 run would put the visitors ahead, 7-6, and force ISU to call timeout. But, the Redbirds would follow that with a run of their own to take a 9-8 lead. UC would respond once again, this time with a 3-0 run to take an 11-9 lead. With the set tied at 12-12, Ogle and Muldrow combined for a block to give UC a 13-12 lead, but that was last lead UC would have. After Stamatiou tied the set at 14-14 with a kill, ISU would get a kill of their own to take a 15-14 lead before blocking a UC attempt to close out the set and the match.
