// LAST TIME OUT
In a highly-competitive match between two local rivals, UC and the Xavier Musketeers played to a double-overtime 1-1 draw on Friday night in front of a Gettler Stadium record crowd of 2,013 fans. After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats broke into the scoring column in the 57th minute off of a set piece orchestrated by sophomore midfielder David Sanz (Santander, Spain/IE La Marina) and finished by sophomore forward Austin Smythe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Radford). UC possessed the ball for much of the second half before XU added the equalizer late with just minutes to play in regulation. In the two, 10-minute overtime periods, both teams played tight defense, wary of the sudden death implications. All said, the two rivals competed for 110 minutes in a Crosstown Derby for the books.
