// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: NC State, 25-11
• The Bearcats got off to a slow start, allowing the opposition to get out to a 7-0 lead before a service error put points on the board. Down 12-3, UC rallied and went on a 4-0 run, thanks in part to an ace from Maya Eller and block by Carly Nolan to make it a five-point deficit. Unfortunately, NC State was able to quiet the UC momentum. The Wolfpack ended the set on an 8-0 run.
Set 2: NC State, 25-16
• Two early aces helped NC State get out to another early lead in the second set. A kill from Nolan from a Jade Tingelhoff assist brought the set within one point (4-3) before a kill from Jasmine Jones, also from Tingelhoff, tied things at four each. The Wolfpack broke that tie with a 4-0 run to remain in front. Down 12-7, the Bearcats called a timeout. Two attack errors and an ace by Chrysanthi Stamatiou started a rally for UC after the break. Another kill from Nolan made it a two-point set, 13-11. NC State's late 6-0 scoring run allowed them to escape with the set victory.
Set 3: NC State, 25-16
• The final set got off to a better start as a Nolan kill off an assist from Tingelhoff gave the Bearcats their first lead. Down 11-7, Megan Kissel earned back-to-back points for UC with a kill and a block. Two points was as close as the Bearcats would get to the lead down the stretch as NC State won 25-16 to take the match in straight sets.
