PROVIDENCE, R.I.
– A pair of University of Cincinnati men's soccer student-athletes were selected as winners of American Athletic Conference Weekly Awards Monday with freshman midfielder Sean Clarke tabbed as Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week while redshirt freshman Pearce Skinner was picked as Goalkeeper of the Week.

Both were crucial in helping the Bearcats to back-to-back wins on the road last week against nationally-ranked teams.

Clarke (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) scored the game winner in a 1-0 win at No. 13 Kentucky on Tuesday. He then recorded a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory at No. 19 Bowling Green on Saturday. In total, he tallied four shots including both on goal going for scores during the week.

Skinner (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) shutout UK with a career-high nine saves in the upset in Lexington. He followed with four saves in a 3-1 triumph in Bowling Green. Over the week, Skinner totaled a 93% save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average.

UC has been honored by the AAC multiple times already this season with David Sanz (Santander, Spain/IE La Marina) being selected to the Weekly Honor Roll twice -- Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 -- while freshman Darryn Commissiong (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary Catholic) was named Rookie of the Week, freshman Noah Lawrence (Mitchellville, Md.) was picked as Goalkeeper of the Week, junior Malik Suleman (Kumasi, Ghana/Cincinnati State) was selected as Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4.
