TicketsCINCINNATI – Junior defensive back Malik Clements (Danville, Va. / George Washington) was named the American Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 17, 2017, the league office announced Monday.
Clements shared the defensive honor with Quincy Roche from Temple.
Clements scored the game-winning touchdown on a 14-yard interception return with 1:07 left to give Cincinnati a 21-17 victory against Miami (Ohio), keeping the Victory Bell with the Bearcats for the 12th straight year. Clements also had seven tackles against the RedHawks.
The Bearcats start league play this weekend with a cross-divisional matchup at Navy on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and 102.7 WEBN FM.
