The University of Cincinnati baseball team is hard at work this fall preparing for the 2018 season, and fans, too, can prepare by placing deposits for 2018 season tickets.
Tickets will officially go on sale in December but the UC ticket office is now accepting $15 season ticket deposits to guarantee seats. Season tickets will cost $50 for adults and $30 for seniors (65 and older) and youth (ages 4-12). Depending on the home schedule, that breaks down to $2-$1 per game for adult season ticket holders. UC students receive free admission with a valid student ID. Deposits are accepted by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX, by logging on to GoBearcats.com or by visiting the ticket office located at the Richard E. Lindner Center in Varsity Village.
The upcoming season's home schedule includes games against Ohio State, Tennessee, Kansas, several American Athletic Conference foes and local rivals Xavier, Miami (OH) and Wright State.
Veteran coach Scott Googins was named UC's 28th baseball head coach in June. Googins makes the move across town after 12 seasons as the head coach at Xavier. The all-time winningest coach in XU history, he has 341 career victories with six regular-season or conference tournament championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances including back-to-back regional finals berths in 2016 and 2017.
Googins hopes to bring his success to the Bearcats, who finished 28-28 overall last season. The 2017 squad posted memorable wins over No. 1 Louisville and No. 25 Tennessee and took down nearby opponents Kentucky, Xavier, Miami (OH) and Wright State. UC's success extended into the classroom as 23 student-athletes were named to the AAC All-Academic Team for achieving a 3.00 grade-point average or better.
