KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Western Michigan Broncos on Monday afternoon at the WMU Soccer Complex.

With the loss, the Bearcats drop to 2-2-0 on the year, while the Broncos move to 3-0-1 in 2017.

UC fell behind early when Bronco Brandon Bye headed in the opening score of the match in the 14th minute. Facing a halftime deficit for the second-consecutive match, the Bearcats were dealt another blow in the 75th minute when goalkeeper Pearce Skinner's (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) save was rebounded and deposited into the back of the net by WMU's Anthony Bowie. The Red & Black ultimately could not recover.

The Bearcats had five shots including one on goal by sophomore Austin Smythe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Radford). Skinner recorded a career-high five saves in his second-career start.
