CINCINNATI
 – Hosting the inaugural Losantiville Challenge, the University of Cincinnati women's golf team placed runner-up, while sophomore Alyssa Burritt finished just four shots off the lead in second place on Tuesday at Losantiville Country Club.

The Bearcats shot rounds of 304 and 316 to total 620, five shots back of tournament winner Eastern Kentucky. UC drained 14 birdies on the day as well as an eagle by senior Christina Gloor (Mattstetten, Switzerland/ESC La Neuveville) on hole No. 6.

Competing as an individual, Burritt (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) fired a four-over-par 76 in the opening round and followed in the second with a 74 (+2) to finish second overall, just behind winner Elsa Moberly of EKU, and first among individual competitors. The second-place finish was a collegiate best while her final-round 74 tied a career low. Burritt holed three birdies on the day: 11, 12, 17.

Gloor was the Red & Black's best finisher among scoring team members. She carded an even-par 72 during the opening round. A couple double bogeys on the front nine, amongst an eagle on six, derailed her a bit in the second round. She finished play with a 40 on the back to slot into third place with a 151, just one shot back of Burritt and five off the lead. Rounding out the top three marked a career-best placement for her.

Junior Elizabeth Keeling (Knoxville, Tenn./Farragut) recorded her best showing as a Bearcat with a sixth-place finish including an opening-round 77 and a following 79 to total 156 for the day.

Junior Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) placed in a tie for seventh with back-to-back rounds of 79, while freshmen Vanessa Manrique (Bogotá, Colombia) and Amalia Shahzan (Kedah, Malaysia) completed the Bearcats' scoring contingent with totals of 159 and 163 to finish in a tie for 10th and 15th, respectively.

Junior Emma Wachtel (Rorschwihr, France/ Jean Sturm Gymnasium) and sophomore Daniela Murcia (Bogotá, Colombia) both competed individually, registering scores of 165 and 166 to place 16 and 17.
