- With four seconds remaining in the third quarter, lightning in the area forced a 1:07 delay before the American Athletic Conference decided to call the game. All statistics were final as they stood when the game was called.
- QB Hayden Moore had a career night on the ground as he rushed for a game and career-high 75 yards on 13 carries with a career-high-tying two touchdowns while also adding 278 yards on 23-of-40 passing with one touchdown and one interception. On the ground, Moore tied his single-game rushing touchdown mark and bettered his previous best of 58 yards, both of which came on the road at Purdue last season (September 10). Through the air, Moore collected 278 yards on 23-of-40 passing with one touchdown and one interception. His throwing total is his second-highest of the season (381 at Navy) and his fourth game in a row with 211 yards or more through the air.
- Following the first touchdown of the night, K Ryan Jones converted the PAT attempt, his first kicking points of his collegiate career. The last time Jones handled place kicking duties came on October 27, 2014, when Jones made a field goal attempt for New Castle HS in a game against Greenfield Central. Jones also connected on a 26-yard field goal to close out the first half of play and added another PAT conversion in the third quarter.
- TE Josiah Deguara pulled in a 28-yard reception in the third quarter to equal his career long. His previous best of the year measured 14 yards. On the same drive, RB Michael Warren hauled in a career-long 16-yard pass from QB Hayden Moore as well. The drive lead to a Bearcats touchdown.
- In the third quarter, RB Gerrid Doaks was on the receiving end of a 1-yard pass from QB Hayden Moore to record his first career receiving touchdown. Doaks previously had run for two earlier this year.
- In the second quarter, DE Mark Wilson came around the corner and sacked UCF QB McKenzie Milton. It was Wilson's first sack of the season and the fifth of his career while also standing as the first sack allowed by UCF all season.
- RB Mike Boone pulled in three passes for 39 yards, including a long of 37 yards, to double his season total as he had 39 yards on eight receptions in his previous three games.
- CB Davin Pierce earned his first career start for the Bearcats.
- Saturday's game was the third in the series with UCF now holding a 2-1 lead after becoming the first team to win as the visitor in the series. UC defeated UCF, 52-7, in 2015 at home before UCF downed the Bearcats, 24-3, in Orlando last year.
